The Portico 5032-H, from Rupert Neve Designs, boasts the same preamp design as their 5012 unit, but adds a Never-tailored equalizer for even more inherently musical sonic quality. Combined with Rupert Neve’s famous Silk controls, the 5032 is capable of imparting a truly vintage flavor to any incoming audio signal. Though the interface is especially suitable for front-end operation, its EQ section features a line-level input, meaning it can be used during mixdown too.
The 5032 consists of a single channel microphone preamplifier and EQ, the latter featuring its own independent input. The mic preamp is the same as that found in the 5012, albeit with the inclusion of a 3-band EQ. In terms of performance, the interface boasts both high and low shelving curves, a parametric mid-band that extends from 80Hz to 8kHz in two ranges, and the same output stage as the 5012.
Whether using the interface’s selectable mic or line input, users have full access to EQ, phase, Silk, and mute parameters. This means the 5032 functions superbly as the core module in a more extensive mixing system, or as a self-contained mixer for standalone operation.
This is the HORIZONTAL version of the Portico 5032.
