The MiniMoog Model D is a legendary and archetypal synthesizer that served as a prototype for all future portable synthesizers. Each of these brand new synthesizers has been handcrafted with identical component placement to that seen in the 1970’s model. The synthesizer’s internal audio path is also identical, though the unit does contain some welcome upgrades that make it more suitable for usage in a modern context.
Upgrades include a Fatar keybed, complete with velocity and aftertouch (available via dedicated CV jacks), an analog LFO with both triangle and square waveforms, Pitch/Gate CV outs, MIDI capability, and a brand new “mixer overload” function that automatically scales the output and feeds it back into the signal path, resulting in thick overdriven sound that is suitable for a variety of styles.
