The CV Bus was initially designed for Alessandro Cortini's own Make Noise system. It features visual indication of level, rate and polarity for up to 4 control signals which will be shared throughout a patch. The 4 control signals are color coded and spread across the center of the system enabling quick, clean and intuitive patching. The distribution method is different than the typical multiple because the control signals will appear beneath their possible destinations which allows for the use of shorter patch cables. The color coding and visual indication makes for easier navigation of complex patches. Normally, the CV Bus would be utilized to share the most important control signals in a patch such as the Master Clock.
The CV Bus also boasts the tools necessary for integrating the Make Noise system with the outside world. A 1/4 inch Mono input with tons of gain allows users to bring external signals into the system. The optimal 10Vpp signal level is visually displayed. A high quality Stereo Line Driver converts powerful modular synth signal levels to the typically used Line Level. There are mini-jack inputs for Left and Right, a single Master Volume control, as well as a TRS Stereo 1/4 inch output jack. This output is able to drive long cable out to a PA System or headphones. It has AC coupling and a built-in limiter circuit (with visual indication) which prevents damage to ears and PA system when the patching gets experimental.
