FM Aid is a module from Happy Nerding that gives the elusive Thru-Zero frequency modulation into the analog modular realm. Any two signals can be patched in, to have the Modulator modulate with thru-zero to the carrier. This module basically copies what the digital version of FM does, but with a completely analog signal path that is free of digital artifacts. All FM features from classic digital FM are applied - Modulatable ratios, modulatable indexes and the modulatable amplitude, as well as Feedback FM and many others. If one signal is patched in, the FM Aid will use that same signal as the Modulator and the Carrier, which turns it into an esoteric wave folder.
Technically speaking, the FM Aid uses Phase Modulation, not Frequency Modulation, the sonic difference being brighter.
- Thru Zero Phase Modulation
- Works with any carrier and modulator signals
- Fully analog circuit
- No digital aliasing
- Adjustable Ratios, and modulation index
