Electronic Music Works (EMW) began in 2008 as an attempt to build an EML Electrocomp 200, a project that was eventually abandoned until years later. After revisiting, EMW was able to finalize a device in accordance with their specifications; the EMW-200. This incarnation features the same 1.2V/Oct scaling as its predecessor but trades the original’s spring reverb for a digital delay line. This latter feature promotes greater reliability, versatility, and excellent sonic quality.
Today, EMW are known for their economically-priced modules, of which there are over 100. Cosmetically, these devices are characterized by their minimalism; rather that bearing gaudy graphics dripping with profuse aesthetics, their faceplates are either black with white graphics or aluminum with black graphics.
