Dave Smith DSM01 Curtis Filter
The legendary Curtis filter is a staple of the Dave Smith sound. Now, Eurorack synthesists can assimilate the Curtis’s bold, puissant tone into their patches.
The Curtis is a resonant low-pass filter that can be switched between -12 dB and -24 dB, where it is easily driven into self-oscillation. The DSM01 combines the Curtis with CV’able frequency and resonance controls, and an additional Boost switch that allows one to overdrive the input signal for some forceful sonic assertion.
But the DSM01 includes much more than the Curtis filter under its panel: the module boasts a handy VCA—complete with LED indicator—and two individual outputs. One output serves as a pre-amplifier and the other as a post-amplifier, allotting extra flexibility for signal routing and allowing other VCAs to be freed for different tasks.
The DSM01 is a quick, cost-effective way to bring the much-desired Dave Smith sound into your Eurorack setup
