The CFM BHWR Bipolar Half-Wave Rectifier enables separation of the positive and negative components of an incoming signal as well as the mixing of the positive and negative components of two incoming signals.
In its primary use, the BHWR can split an audio signal's positive and negative components so that each can be processed separately - in this way, combining parallel effects on a single signal can be made far clearer than in typical combination of full-wave processed signals. Of course, there are plenty of other interesting uses: route the positive and negative parts of a control voltage to two different destinations for processing, waveshaping, slewing, and more.
Because it is a passive module, it also allows use in reverse: two signals can be sent to the + and - jacks in order to mix their positive and negative components into one hybrid signal. This can result in creation of novel waveshapes or effects similar to phasing, ring modulation, and more.
Oh, and you get two rectifier circuits in the same module. The uses for such a utility are nearly endless.
